Visit France’s largest port and second-largest city. Marseille has close links with the Middle East and North Africa. You will walk through narrow stepped streets, quiet squares and see fine 18th century façades which contrast with the bustle of boulevard Canebière and the Cité Radieuse, Le Corbusier’s housing complex. The old harbour is renowned for it’s daily fish market. Founded by the Romans in 103 BC, Aix en Provence is a centre of arts and learning. Aix has been called the city of thousands fountains. You will enjoy seeing some of the most beautiful ones situated on the Cours Mirabeau. On this tree-lined avenue, you will see 17th and 18th century buildings and enjoy a stop in one of it’s numerous cafés which are so much apart of the city’s social life. You will visit the Old Town which centres on the place de l’Hôtel de Ville, with its colourful flower market. The Atelier Paul Cézanne, and Musée des Tapisseries ( tapestries ) are among cultural places to be visited.
