Marseille - Cassis
Starting from On demand €
Trip distance: Km ( Miles)
This is France's largest port and second-largest city. With close links to the Middle East and North Africa, Marseille offers a feast of world cuisines, music and cultural traditions.
The old part of the city is known for its narrow stepped streets, quiet squares and and fine 18th-century buildings, which contrast with the bustle of boulevard Canebière and the Cité Radieuse, Le Corbusier's modern apartment building with the famous roof. The old harbor is renowned for its fish market which sells the catch of the day.
From Marseille to Cassis, the coastline forms narrow, steep-walled inlets known as the Calanques. Their jagged white cliffs reflect in the dazzling turquoise waters of the Mediterranean. The En-vau and Sormiou Calanques are especially lovely.
You will enjoy visiting the charming and lively fishing port of Cassis. It once attracted artists such as Dufy and
Signac, and today little fishing boats share the harbor with yachts. You will also enjoy tasting the famous Cassis white wine.
