Paris Orientation Tour
Starting from 340 €
Trip distance: Km ( Miles)
This tour of Paris begins on the Right Bank at the Place de l'Etoile where, standing in its center, is the Arc de Triomphe. It then moves on to the Trocadéro, the site of the Palais de Chaillot with two world class museums and a terrific view of the Eiffel tower.
We cross over the Seine river to the Left Bank to visit the Eiffel Tower. From both the first and second floor there are stunning view of Paris. A walk down the Champs de Mars brings us first to the Ecole Militaire and then to Les Invalides to visit Napoleon's Tomb.
From there we drive through the famous Left Bank areas such as Saint Germain des Prés and the Latin Quarter, where you will see the Panthéon, a church and a famous burial place for many Parisians, and the Luxembourg Palace and Gardens.
Next is the Ile-Saint-Louis to visit the magnificent Notre Dame Cathedral. We walk on to the Sainte Chapelle and to the Conciergerie (a prison where many aristocrats were held captive during the Revolution).
We cross back over river to the Right Bank to see the Place de la Bastille (once an infamous prison) and the Opera House, followed by a drive through the historical Marais quarter to see the Place des Vosges, one of the finest squares in the city.
We stop in Montmarte to walk in the Place du Tertre and to enjoy a fabulous view of Paris from the Sacré Cœur, a landmark white church. Next is the Place de l'Opéra, and a stop at the Louvre Museum (if requested), the Place Vendôme, the Madeleine Church, and the Place de la Concorde (where Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette were guillotined).
We end with a nice drive along the Champs Elysées, the most famous avenue in the world.
